Colin's Soccer Game

Ok, so we haven't taken many good pictures of Karl at his soccer games, but we did go and watch Colin at his game last week, so I'm going to beat Angie to it and post pictures from that!

Colin is a very serious player. You do not want to get in his way!http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6024/5928314089_9da3332bab_z.jpg

Justin and Karl were buddies during the game, at least when Justin wasn't doting on his baby brother.

Laura has been very good at getting out of soccer and t-ball games this summer (she cons people into taking her to Perkin's), but sometimes she just can't get out of it. Here's the obligatory picture of how Laura watches sports.

I try to hog Adam as much as possible. It's easy because he loves me so much.http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6022/5928316749_79d143a58b_z.jpg

I gave Karl the camera and secretly told him to take a picture of Angie when Colin scored a goal (Angie is a GREAT person to have cheering for you). It didn't take long until Colin scored, so now you can see how Angie reacts. Just wait until these kids are in high school!http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6121/5928872044_0967c8829a_z.jpg

Great game, Colin!

It's So Good Not to be at a Twins Game!

While the boys were at a Twins game, Pam and Laura hit the biking trails again. Laura has gotten to be quite the biker this summer. Once she got the biking bug, there's just no stopping her!http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6024/5901108979_1f66f0c0fa_z.jpghttp://farm6.static.flickr.com/5240/5901670346_5dd610f808_z.jpg

We're Going to Win Twins!

Fred, Matt, and Karl went to a Twins game on Sunday, and they got to watch an exciting game with a final score of Twin 9, Milwaukee Brewers 7. It was a gorgeous day, and they even got to sit in the shade for 7 innings. Ahhh, summmer.http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5152/5901100569_f6479f3113_z.jpg

Unfortunately, there were a lot of Brewers fans around. Good thing Karl is so good at talkin' smack.

Fred got to find out how fun it is to watch a baseball game with Karl.

Let's see, how many combinations of Meissner men can there be?

Damon Comes to Play

Last Friday Damon came to spend the day with us. It was a day full of basketball, football, and swimming!http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5230/5874300012_fff9f8a582_z.jpghttp://farm4.static.flickr.com/3178/5873741743_8a877506ee_z.jpghttp://farm4.static.flickr.com/3162/5873741243_829e360b64_z.jpg

Just Look at this Beautiful Rose Bush!

Oh, and there's a pretty cute boy standing next to it. Why is he so happy you ask? Because he just got done running two-and-a-half miles (chatting the whole way, because he's one of THOSE people). http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5267/5858919266_fc0d40b483_z.jpg

Father's Day 2011

Every year Matt's wish for father's day is that we don't host father's day. His other request is blueberry muffins for breakfast. Done and done!http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5110/5858366453_7d10bb481b_z.jpg

For lunch we went to my parents' house, where Karl got to run around like a wild man with his cousins. I tried taking pictures, but for some reason the six boys did not want to stand still. I did get a good shot of Dad doing the grilling, though.http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3083/5858918776_829a5817af_z.jpg

Later we went to Pam and Fred's. The four Minnesota cousins put on a splendid recital, and afterwards served a splendid dinner to their parents (what made it so splendid was that we didn't have to be in the kitchen supervising the prep work; these cousins can be wild too!). Unfortunately Emily didn't get the word that this was a barefoot occasion.http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5223/5858919022_6b70928cbd_z.jpg

Yay for Summer Vacation!

Yesterday was the kids' last day of school, which means that summer started for them the second they stepped off the school bus (my summer started on June 1st, and Matt's started Memorial Day weekend; we all have our season rules in this family).http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2730/5794973381_351452c3dd_z.jpg

Incredibly enough, it was warm enough today to get out the Slip 'n Slide. Once the pool opens on Sunday, we'll be there every chance we get. The Slip 'n Slide, though, proved to be a good way to start summer vacation.
