Karl Hits the Slopes

On Saturday, Karl and I met Jason and Colin at Wild Mountain to do some skiing. My video didn’t exactly turn out, but this one pretty much summarizes Karl’s first experience with downhill skiing:

That was pretty close to how it all went. But if you insist on more details…

Karl was eager to give skiing a try, and lucky for us Uncle Jason is very good ski instructor. We started out on the bunny hill, riding the magic carpet to the half-way point.

Skiing isn’t easy, but whenever Karl got frustrated, Colin was there with some encouraging words.

After lunch, we switched over to the tow rope and made it to the top of the bunny hill. Planning the route down the hill:

It didn’t take too much longer and we were riding the chairlift to the top to try make the first long run of the day!

We spent the rest of the afternoon skiing down “The Northern Route” and then riding the chairlift back to the top to do it all over again.

By the end of the afternoon, we were all exhausted.

Here’s my video…not quite as exciting as the first one, but I tried to spice it up a little bit.

agYou guys made it look so easy. What a fun day and great skiing, especially for the first time, Karl. Jason and Matt are good teachers.
