On Wednesday Matt and I went to a show at the Guthrie with Angie and Jason. Mom and Dad were nice enough to babysit all the kids at Angie and Jason's house, on the condition that we could all go out to eat before the play (this is how you get Mom to do anything!).
Karl and Colin got to sit next to each other at the Olive Garden, and somehow I ended up on the other side of Karl. It was very hard for me to eat, since I had to keep stopping to make comments like, "Karl, SIT in your chair!" or "Karl, stop being silly and eat!" and "Karl, stop picking the croutons out of the salad bowl!" Meanwhile, Matt and Laura ate a peaceful dinner across the table.
Mom always looks happy in restaurants.
Baby Justin got to sit at the head of the table, so he could make his flirty eyes at everyone.
As soon as we got back to Angie and Jason's house after dinner, Colin and Karl commenced their tackle football game in the backyard, while Laura played nicely on the swingset, glad that she's not a boy.
When the kids came inside, one by one they were all drawn to the "Baby Einstein" video Justin was watching, until all the kids were lined up with their eyes glued to the pretty toys on the screen. At least they were quiet...
When we got back after the play, Karl was fast asleep on the sofa.

It was such a fun evening. We'll have to plan some sleepovers for the near future as Colin loves it when Karl and Laura come over.
